The Mark DuFresne Band
Since reforming in 2016 with founding guitarist, Billy Stapleton, this current version of the Mark Dufresne Band has been wowing audiences around the Pacific Northwest.
Using his 3-octave tenor voice and championship harmonica playing at full force, Grammy nominated Mark Dufresne’s powerhouse skills are sure to captivate and entertain. A dynamic singer and showman, Dufresne’s original rhythm and blues songs, including instrumentals, shine in the hands of this talented quartet.
The Mark Dufresne Band is not your typical blues fare. This spectacular “show band” plays their original material like a quintessential Chicago Blues Revue Band. This quartet is truly one of the best rhythm and blues outfits on the West Coast.
Blues Review Magazine:
“DuFresne is as distinctive as a vocalist as he is a fiery player; rather than recycling old riffs, his original compositions are tuneful, melodic and grooveworthy..”
Real Gone Love
Vocals / Harmonica
Mark DuFresne is one of the most sought after Blues talents in the Northwest. The Washington Blues Society has awarded him for best vocalist, songwriter and harmonica more than any other artist.
A native of Marysville Washington, Kelly Leifer played his first gig on electric bass at the Spokane Expo in 1974 at 15 years old and hasn’t stopped laying down a solid groove since.
On drums, the accomplished and brilliant David Hudson shows off a lifetime’s collection of grooves and chops, he’s the perfect foil for DuFresne’s brand of blues/roots style.
Guitar / Slide
Veteran Guitarist, and recent Washington Blues Society Hall of Fame inductee, Billy Stapleton is kept busy with rhythm, lead, and slide guitar duties. Stapleton’s artistry is second to none.
The Mark DuFresne Band released a live album in June 2019, recorded at Bake’s Place in Bellevue in 2018. The album release party will be August 2, 2019, at Bake’s Place. You can listen to clips and purchase the album from CD Baby here:
